FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you might want to know about Fratz, our modern men's Tracht and the upcoming shop.

What is Fratz?

Fratz is a Viennese label for modern men's Tracht. It reinterprets the Janker, the Tracht waistcoat and the Lederhose with slim fits, ironic details and the black rose as its symbol. In Viennese dialect, a Fratz is a cheeky rascal.

Where are Fratz pieces made?

Every piece is designed in Vienna, Austria, and handmade in a family workshop in Italy in small runs.

What is in the collection?

The AW 26/27 collection has three pieces: the Janker Karl-Otto (felted wool, black), the waistcoat Hans-Peter (felted wool, black) and the Lederhose Franz-Josef (Alcantara with tonal black rose embroidery).

When does the shop open?

The Fratz shop opens soon. Subscribe to the Fratz Letter on our homepage to hear the launch date first and receive a private invitation to the opening.

Can I buy Fratz now?

Not yet. The pieces are shown for preview only; there are no prices or orders until the shop opens.

Which colours will be available?

The collection is shown in black. Each piece – Janker, waistcoat and Lederhose – will also be available in dark blue, beige, grey and bordeaux.

Which sizes are available?

The Janker and the waistcoat are planned in EU sizes 46 to 56, the Lederhose in EU sizes 44 to 54. A detailed size guide will be published when the shop opens.

How do I care for my Fratz pieces?

Always follow the care label. Felted wool is best aired out and brushed rather than washed often; for cleaning, use a professional cleaner. Treat the Lederhose gently, spot-clean marks and let it dry naturally.

Do you ship to Austria, Germany and Switzerland?

Yes. When the shop opens we plan to ship across the European Union and to Switzerland. Shipping details will be published at launch.

What does the black rose mean?

The black rose is the Fratz symbol: elegant yet defiant, romantic yet dangerous. It appears on our buttons, which are made exclusively for Fratz, inside cuffs and as tonal details.
